Saintfield Christmas Fair

Saintfield Development Association has been making preparations since July for its annual Saintfield Christmas Fair.  This year the Christmas Fair will be held on Friday 6th December on Main Street from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The street will be closed to traffic during this period to provide a safe environment for residents and visitors.

There are many attractions for all age groups, made possible by generous donations from local traders and businesses, together with some support from Down District Council. The Saintfield Christmas Fair is an ideal way to begin the festive season, with something to please all the family.

Full details of Saintfield Christmas Fair can be found HERE.

Saintfield Christmas Charity Santa Ride

Today saw the launch, in Rowallane Garden, of the 2013 Saintfield Christmas Charity Santa Ride. The annual Charity Ride, organised by Joan Cunningham [pictured right], is in aid of underprivileged children in Uganda and Rwanda whose parents have either died from AIDS or have been murdered.

Riders from the Showjumping, Eventing, Hunting, Racing and Showing world, not forgetting of course the Happy Hackers, will take part in this charity fundraising event – all dressed as Santas!

On Saturday 7th December the real Santa and his Santa guests will ride from Saintfield Livestock Mart to the Christmas Tree on Main Street, arriving there at 1:00pm.  This is a spectacular event not to be missed!

Photos taken at today’s launch can be viewed HERE.

Spooktackular Hallowe’en – 19 & 20 October

Prepare to be spooked at Rowallane Garden’s Spooktacular Ghosts and Gourds event.

Head along for a bewitching day out for all the family. The Garden will come to life this Hallowe’en with a terrifying ghost trail, spooky stories and watch your little ones be transformed with fearsome face painting. Pop along and meet Phil and his animal friends and to top of the event why not behead, scoop out and carve your very own pumpkin to take home with you, to ward away the evil spirit this Hallowe’en.

The vibrant café and shop reflect the change in seasons, so on your journey why not take the weight off your feet and pop in for a hot cuppa and a winter warmer with homemade soups, and a nosy round the shop and see what Hallowe’en goodies you can pick up.

The event takes place between 12 noon and 5pm on both Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 October. Normal Admission charges apply (National Trust Members Free).
