Saintfield Christmas Fair 2013

Saintfield Development Association will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Friday 6th December on Main Street from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The street will be closed to traffic during this period to provide a safe environment for residents and visitors.

Santa will arrive at 7pm and will dish out treats to the children as usual. Saintfield man Paddy Jackson, the Ulster and Ireland rugby international, will switch on the Christmas lights after Santa arrives and will be on hand to sign autographs. He will also judge the festive shop window competition.

There will be plenty of attractions to keep the youngsters entertained including a Bucking Bronco Bull and a Touch Down rugby bungee game. Old favourites such as the miniature steam train and the roundabout will also be in operation. “FirePoise” the exciting fire dancing troupe are back by popular request and if the action gets too hot, the Fire Cadets will be on hand to dampen things down.

Carol singers and choirs will add the necessary Christmas atmosphere to the event and should fill you with feelings of peace and goodwill.

There will be lots of stalls along the street displaying a variety of goodies to tempt the mums and dads and refreshment stalls will also be there to quench any hunger pangs. Most of the local shops will remain open for late night shopping, so you can browse them for Christmas gifts and goodies. If you need a break, the cafes and pubs will provide a warm refuge for you to refuel.

The Fair is made possible by generous donations from local traders and businesses, together with some support from Down District Council. The Saintfield Christmas Fair is an ideal way to begin the festive season, with something to please all the family.
