in advance of the appearance of Down District Council‘s road sweeping lorry in Saintfield on Friday 11th July.

Road Clean – 6th July

26 bags of dirt were collected on Belfast Road by volunteers from Saintfield Development Association as part of the Down Your Street campaign.  Both sides of the road, footpaths and road entrances were cleaned from the traffic lights to Claddagh Hill and from Cotswold Downs to the former Hocks’n’Hooves building.

Total for the evening = 5 bags

A lady was also seen cleaning the parking bay at the terrace on Fair Green just off the Lisburn Road.  Thank you.

1 volunteer – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm then 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm

11 bags litter &  2 bags recyclables (see photo)

Sunday 29/06/2014

Cleaned up gutters & pavements on Upper Main Street North/South sides and The Square.

10:30 am to 11:30 am – 3 volunteers
1:00 pm to 6:00 pm – 1 volunteer

11 bags of dirt to be collected by DDC dust cart.

Unusual item: grey wheelie bin with number 2 on it on top of hedge on Crossgar Road. Full of rubbish. Will go back and remove rubbish from it.
