Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Saintfield Development Association will be held on Monday 4th June at 7.30 pm in the Rowallane Community Hub, 35 Main Street, Saintfield.
The AGM gives residents an opportunity to hear what their development association has achieved over the past year as well as a chance to put their views forward.
Following the meeting, a barbecue will be held in the courtyard for the attendees to meet the incoming committee members.
The Saintfield Development Association is staging a “Saintfield to Sketrick” cycle ride on Sunday 20th May.
The route is over 34 miles through the scenic County Down countryside, starting and finishing in Saintfield. This ride is a social outing, not a race and will appeal to all categories of cyclist, from the novice to the club enthusiast.
The route will be fully signposted and there will be marshals at strategic points around the course. A sweeper car will follow the field to attend to any riders in difficulty.
The entry fee is £10 online or £15 on the day, which includes delicious home-made tray bakes and refreshments at Sketrick Island, as well as light refreshments at the finish at the Rowallane Inn, Saintfield. All proceeds will go towards SDA community projects.
Registration will be held on the day at the Downpatrick Street car park in Saintfield, behind Danske Bank, from 8.30am for a 9.30am start, or can be done online at:

This event is supported by Linking Generations NI, an organization which promotes inter-generational activities which bring together older and younger members of our community.
Wednesday Welcome meets fortnightly, sometimes in the Woodrow Room but mostly in the Upper Area of the Parish Church Hall. Occasionally members head off on a coach outing to a place of interest. The group provides an opportunity for those who no longer have to go out to work to enjoy one another’s company, sharing in a range of activities both physically and mentally stimulating.
To help fund and sustain visits and receive guest speakers or demonstrators the group is presenting in association with Saintfield High School this evening of music and dance entertainment.
Saintfield Development Association’s Green Committee have organised a litter pick to take place on the Ballynahinch Road at 10.00am on Saturday 28th April.
Everyone welcome! If you would like to come along and help, please meet at the lay-by on the right-hand side of Ballynahinch Road as you go out of Saintfield.
Hi-vis bibs, gloves, picking tools and bags will be provided.
Saintfield Heritage Society will have its first talk of 2018 on Thursday 11th January in the Woodrow Room of Saintfield Parish Church Hall at 8.00 p.m.
The talk is entitled, “Birds of Strangford Lough”. Dr Bob Brown OBE, an internationally renowned conservation expert and former Director of the RSPB for Northern Ireland, is uniquely qualified to talk on this subject.
Members are invited to bring their friends or family. Non-members are also very welcome to attend.
Membership is only £10 for the year, and that includes refreshments!
The full programme of talks for the 2017/18 season can be found HERE.
Saintfield Development Association would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for our project in the 2017 Aviva Community Fund competition. Unfortunately we did not receive enough votes to proceed to the next stage of the process, but there is always next year!
