Saintfield In Bloom Prizewinners

Saintfield Development Association invited traders and companies in Saintfield to participate in a floral display competition.

The judges would be looking for the best floral display, either in the window or exterior, of any shop, business or office in Saintfield. The judges would also take into account the general cleanliness and appearance of the premises and its surrounds, together with the overall impression created.

Prizes would be awarded to both small and large premises. By entering the competition traders and companies could compete for this prestigious award, as well as helping to beautify our village.

The judging for Saintfield In Bloom was carried out on 24th July by Averil Milligan, Head Gardener, Rowallane and by Ballymoney Councillor Evelyn Robinson, proposed by the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA), sponsors of Ulster in Bloom.

Tonia McDonald generously donated two plaques for the winners in the Small and Large Business categories. The Highly Commended and Commended businesses in each category received certificates.

The WINNER in the Small Business category was MASSEY’S OF SAINTFIELD.

Saintfield Orange Hall was HIGHLY COMMENDED .

Norr & Brown was COMMENDED.

The WINNER in the Large Business category was THE MILL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT.

The Progressive Building Society was HIGHLY COMMENDED .

The White Horse was COMMENDED.
