HeartStart Lisburn & Mid Down – Simple Skills, Save Lives

HeartStart Lisburn & Mid Down was formed by a group of local people who have all been trained by the British Heart Foundation resuscitation officer and have been delivering Heartstart in Saintfield, Ballynahinch, Katesbridge, Rathfriland, Banbridge and Downpatrick.

What they need are community groups / family and friends / church groups who want training. Groups can be from 6 to 36 people.

The training session, “Simple skills, save lives”, lasts only two hours and covers:

Coronary Heart Disease
Serious bleeding
Choking
Recovery Position
Recognising a Heart Attack
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Training is free, but if anyone would like to donate a small amount it helps keep HeartStart on the road and with the replacement of equipment. All the trainers are volunteers and give their time freely.

For more details, or to book a training session, contact Lynda Donaldson: lyndadon@btinternet.com

Heartstart is a BHF initative which has been implemented in some schools and also in the community.
