Saintfield Town Regeneration Committee (STRC)

The history of Saintfield Town Regeneration Committee can be found here.

In 2008-9 Down District Council commissioned a feasibility study for new leisure and community facilities in Saintfield.

The study included a consultation evening, hosted by the Town Regeneration Committee, at which members of the community were asked to list the community groups they belonged to.  A total of eighteen community groups were identified, representing over 2,000 people.  In addition ten sporting clubs were identified which had between them 2,018 users.

Saintfield therefore has a thriving community and very active sports clubs, most of which provide properly managed training for young people.

This website is being built by Saintfield Heritage Society and Saintfield Town Regeneration Committee, but it is their joint wish that all community groups and sports clubs in and near Saintfield should either have their own pages on this site or have a link from this site to their own website.  Please contact us at info (at) discoversaintfield.com to if you want your club or group to be added.

Details of the progress for the new community and leisure facilities for Saintfield can be found here.

The 2012 AGM was held on 14th May.

At an EGM on 20th November 2012 members of STRC unanimously voted to change its name to Saintfield Development Association, and to become a limited company with charitable status.
