Hi,
You recently helped me recruit participants for my PhD research which is investigating opportunities for active living in rural settlements in Northern Ireland. I have almost completed my project in Saintfield, with only one interview left to conduct. However, I would like to say thank you for being so receptive and helpful! Saintfield is a lovely village with equally lovely people. The development association is clearly incredibly active, and it’s great to hear of people so proud of their local area (and so you should be!). Thanks again, and keep up the good work! 🙂 Kind Regards, |
Gardens in autumn have a special charm all of their own and Rowallane, the beautiful National Trust garden in Saintfield, is now shaping up into spectacular autumn colour. Head out and enjoy the magnificent garden and browse through the stalls at their Autumn Plant Fair on Saturday 4 October.
Don’t just visit Rowallane though! Call into Saintfield village itself and enjoy the lovely shops and cafes before heading home!
… and awaits its final top surface.
Perhaps we need a Down District Council anti-litter van like this to patrol the village and raise awareness of the litter problem in Saintfield.
For the latest news on Saintfield Development Association’s anti-litter volunteers’ activities have a look HERE.
The road surface has been coated with a buff coloured aggregate to further define the space as The Square.
Not all of the litter and waste gathered from Saintfield’s streets by members of Saintfield Development Association’s Green Saintfield Committee is removed by the council. One dedicated member uses his own car to transport other people’s waste to the dump. Below are photographs showing bags of cans, plastic bottles and general waste, and three car loads of such bags which were taken to the dump on Thursday.
