Olympic Torch Visits Saintfield!

The Olympic Torch being lit at the Temple of Hera in Olympia, Greece.

The Olympic Torch will be passing through Saintfield on Thursday 7th June. It will arrive from Crossgar at 08:41, and go through the town before heading off towards Ballynahinch. You can view the route map.

Three torchbearers will carry the Olympic Torch through Saintfield. You can read their nomination stories:

Andrew Miller (from Saintfield)
Jim McDowell (from Belfast)
Tom Purdon (from Newtownards)

Let’s see a big crowd all along the route to welcome the Olympic Torch
and provide encouragement for the three Torchbearers.

come out and see the torch, see your neighbours and have a chat
