The 2012 Annual General Meeting of the Saintfield Town Regeneration Committee was held in the Sports Club on Monday 14th May. Over 60 people attended the meeting along with all five Rowallane councillors and a local MLA.
Following reports by the Chairman and Treasurer questions were taken from the floor. A lively discussion followed with the three main topics being the planned community hall and sports facility, the poor state of Main Street, and the lack of a good play park for children such as that at Stormont.
There then followed the election of Committee Members for the next year. There are 26 Members this year, and they will take positions in each of the five sub-committees.
The Guest Speaker for the meeting was Mr Morris Crawford of the Killyleagh Development Association. In a very interesting and inspiring talk he outlined how the Association was formed and its achievements over the years.
