The Christmas Tree lights were switched on by Saintfield man Paddy Jackson, who plays rugby for Ulster and Ireland.  He is seen here with the Chair of SDA, Martyn Todd, who presented him with a token of thanks, a chocolate rugby ball made and kindly donated by Ann McCandless of Norr & Brown, 1 Todd’s Hill.

While other towns and villages have had their old Christmas lights replaced Saintfield
has had to make do with its old lights.  They are so old that they now have a retro look!

Santa arrived on Main Street in a 1924 Lancia Open Top Tourer, driven by Alan Clarke.

As Santa walked up and down Main Street he handed out
sweets to the crowds of children following him.

There were queues all evening to have a go on the Bronco Bull.

Children of all sizes enjoyed sitting on the PSNI motorcycles.

The Fire Cadets displayed their equipment and gave demonstrations.

A regular attraction at Saintfield Christmas Fair is the miniature steam train ride.
It always makes a great spectacle on a cold December evening!
